Ingredients

For the Burgers
  • pounds ground beef 80/20
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • ½ cup diced white onion
  • ½ cup sliced dill pickles
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
For the Keto Burger Sauce
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sugar-free ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sugar-free pickle relish
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice

Method

Cooking Instructions
    Prepare the Burger Sauce
    1. Mix mayonnaise, sugar-free ketchup, mustard, relish, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and pickle juice in a bowl. Stir well until smooth. Place the sauce in the refrigerator while preparing the burgers.
    Divide the Beef
    1. Place the ground beef onto a tray. Divide it into eight equal portions. Roll each portion into a loose ball. Do not press the meat tightly because loose beef creates crispier edges.
    Heat the Skillet
    1. Place a cast iron skillet over high heat. Allow it to become very hot before cooking. A hot skillet creates the crispy golden crust that makes smash burgers taste amazing.
    Smash the Patties
    1. Place one beef ball onto the hot skillet. Use a sturdy metal spatula to press it flat. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder immediately after smashing.
    Cook the First Side
    1. Leave the burger untouched for about two minutes. The beef will develop crispy brown edges. Avoid moving the patty because this helps create the best crust.
    Flip and Add Cheese
    1. Carefully flip the burger with your spatula. Place one slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for another minute until the cheese melts completely over the juicy beef.
    Cook Remaining Patties
    1. Repeat the same process with all remaining beef portions. Keep the cooked patties warm on a plate covered loosely with foil while finishing the rest.
    Assemble the Burger
    1. Place shredded lettuce onto a serving plate. Add two cheesy smash patties. Top with diced onions, dill pickles, more lettuce, and plenty of creamy keto burger sauce.
    Serve Fresh
    1. Serve immediately while everything is hot and fresh. Enjoy every bite with extra sauce, crunchy pickles, and crisp lettuce for the best homemade burger experience.
